Admission
To establish the access conditions and admission criteria for the master's degree, the regulations established in Article 18 of Royal Decree 822/2021, which regulates the organization of university teaching and the quality assurance procedure, have been taken into account, as well as the provisions of the second section of the fourth final provision of Organic Law 2/2023, of March 22, of the University System, which modifies Law 33/2011, of October 4, General of Public Health.
- The Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, which will not, in itself, qualify for the practice of psychology in the health sector, will constitute a necessary requirement for access to the Master's Degree in General Health Psychology, as well as any other official foreign university degree in Psychology that meets the requirements established in Order CNU/1309/2018, the study plans of the Bachelor's Degree in Psychology will have to be adjusted, in particular with regard to the compulsory subjects linked to Health Psychology.
Order ECD/1070/2013, which establishes the requirements for the verification of official university degrees of Master in General Health Psychology, requires possession of the Bachelor's/Graduate degree in Psychology together, where applicable, with supplementary training that guarantees that the interested party has obtained at least 90 ECTS credits.
In relation to the recognition of these 90 ECTS of complementary training to those referred to in the previous paragraph, it will be necessary for the applicant to present documentation proving this requirement.
According to the order ECD/1070/2013 the criteria used to validate the 90 health credits prior to the realization of the Master will be the following:
For Graduates in Psychology, those corresponding to:
- Basic subjects of Health Sciences Branch.
- Subjects related to Personality, Psychological Assessment and Treatment and Psychobiology.
- Itineraries, mentions or optional subjects qualified by their connection to Clinical Psychology, Health
- Psychology or Health Psychology.
- Practice when it is the case.
- TFG performed in the field of Clinical, Health or Health Psychology.
- Subjects related to Psychological Processes and Methodology that make it possible to acquire the previous or complementary competences to those defined in paragraph 2b of the Annex to order ECD/1070/2013, of 12 June.
For Graduates in Psychology, those corresponding to:
- Subjects related to Personality, Psychological Assessment and Treatment and Psychobiology.
- Specialties, itineraries, intracurricular options or optional subjects of Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology or Health Psychology.
- Practice when it is the case.
- Related subjects Psychological processes and methodology that make it possible to acquire the previous or complementary skills defined in paragraph 2b of the Annex to order ECD/1070/2013, of 12 June.
- In addition, additional training credits obtained in postgraduate training that meets the requirements of Law 5/2011 of 29 March on Social Economy may be considered as health credits.
Criteria for admission of students
When the demand exceeds the number of applicants, a prioritisation shall be established among applicants who meet the access requirements with the following criteria:
1. Academic record, up to 4 points: passed (1p), remarkable (2p), excellent (3p), honours (4p)
2. Specific training in the health field (except that required to access), up to 2 points:
Postgraduate studies linked to C. of Health over 30 ECTS (2p)
Postgraduate studies linked to C. of Health up to 30 ECTS (1p)
Postgraduate studies linked to C. Social over 30 ECTS (0.5p)
Professional and/or work experience related to the contents of the accredited Master, up to 2 points: between 1 and 3 years (1p), more than 3 years (2p)
3. Knowledge of foreign languages at level B2 or higher: up to 1 point.
4. Other merits (publications, teaching collaborations,...) up to 1 point
Career opportunities
Master in General Health Psychology: The profession for which graduates are trained after obtaining the degree is that of Psychologist/General Sanitary (ORDER ECD/1070/2013).
